Just as prayer without action may be construed as magical thinking, so too are positive thoughts and emotions. Without acting in positive, constructive ways, the rest is, to an extent, mental masturbation. We must contribute to the world, to our loved ones, to our coworkers. Growing up, my parents taught me that the meaning of life is to leave the world a better place than when I arrived.
How you interpret the phrase ‘a better place’ is up to you and your most cherished values. Just be sure to take positive action on a daily basis! Where are your accomplishments most needed?
